At the same time, the grandmaster stressed that Andrey Filatov's term at the head of the FSR is coming to an end, and elections of the organization's president will take place in December.
According to Karjakin, if the specialist remains at his post, he should completely change the team "to those who really love chess and their country."
The victory of Jan Nepomniachtchi at the Candidates Tournament, as Sergei notes, should not mislead the public.
In fact, chess in Russia is in decline, and it all started long before the pandemic and the special operation in Ukraine.
“I hope that the federation will finally start holding major tournaments within the country, thereby supporting its athletes.
