Tonight, the European Championships kick off with the England-Austria premiere match, ahead of a packed Old Trafford in Manchester.

It will mean a new audience record for a European Championship match for women.

Sweden's team will sit on the bench and watch the match together, something Chelsea goalkeeper Zećira Mušović is looking forward to.

- We have been waiting a long time for this.

We hope for a cruel premiere, she says.

Did not know what sport it played

Sweden is one of the favorites in the championship and receives a lot of media attention, but also great interest from the public.

This has been noticed during the upload to the European Championships.

- I think the interest has grown.

This was seen not least in Båstad at the introductory camp.

Before, people walked around in national team clothes and people wondered: "What sport are you?"

and "How old are you?".

We just replied we play football and are the senior national team.

But now everyone is in control, most will follow the championship, some on site and others at home in front of the TV.

May come hatred

Are there any downsides with all the interest?

- So far it has only been fun, but you have to be prepared that there may be downsides in the form of hatred, for people who have that need.

For Wednesday's premiere, it is expected to be packed, over 70,000. The interest has thus resulted in great demand for tickets.

- Finally, I have just been waiting for it to be like this.

It has been a record match after a record match in recent years.

Now we are here again.

I'm glad that those around the sport are also starting to think that something exciting is going on.
