Mauro Camoranesi, world champion with Italy in 2006, has been appointed assistant to new OM coach Igor Tudor within a very Italian staff, the club announced on Wednesday.
Born in Argentina and endowed with dual Italian-Argentinian nationality, Camoranesi began his playing career in South America before playing for ten years in Italy, first at Hellas Verona, then at Juventus, of which he was a major element between 2002 and 2010. It was there that he met Igor Tudor, who played there from 1999 to 2007.
Three other Italians in the staff
International 55 times with Italy, Camoranesi began a coaching career in 2015 for the time being quite modest, with mixed experiences in Argentina, Mexico and Slovenia.
The Croatian Tudor staff is completed by three other Italians.
Antonello Brambilla, who notably worked at Sampdoria Genoa and Watford, will be the goalkeeping coach.
Physical preparation will be managed by Carlo Spignoli, who held the same position between 2013 and 2019 in Monaco.
Finally, Giuseppe Maiuri has been appointed video analyst.
He worked for eight years at Juventus, where he also worked alongside Tudor, assistant coach to Andrea Pirlo during the 2020-2021 season.
