El Gouna separates from its coach Tamer Mostafa after a draw with Al-Ahly

El-Gouna, who is threatened with relegation from the Egyptian Premier League, announced today, Wednesday, its consensual separation from its coach, Tamer Mostafa.

The club, which occupies the 14th place and has won only two matches in the last ten matches in the league, said, "The board of directors and technical director Tamer Mustafa reached an agreement to end the contract between the two parties by mutual consent.

"The club expresses its pride in the period that Mustafa spent at the helm of the technical leadership and extends its sincere thanks to the technical assistant staff represented by Tariq Suleiman, Reda Al-Fedawi, Ahmed Siddiq and Muhammad Mustafa, who performed their role to the fullest with dedication and sincerity."

Mostafa took charge of El Gouna last April, succeeding Reda Shehata, and led the team in seven matches, winning one, drawing two and losing four matches.

And Mustafa had said after imposing a negative tie on Al-Ahly on Tuesday, "Success was absent from El-Gouna during our period with the team, they will praise the performance tonight because we drew against Al-Ahly, but we played matches at a level better than this 100 times and lost."

Talaat Youssef is considered the most prominent candidate to succeed Mustafa.
