  • After three days in Denmark, the Tour de France peloton returns to its natural habitat on Tuesday, with a 175.5 km long stage between Dunkirk and Calais.

  • The departure will be given at 1:15 p.m., the arrival is scheduled around 5:25 p.m.

  • This 4th stage should offer a nice spectacle, with six odds listed through Flanders then Boulonnais, the last of which, that of Cap-Blanc-Nez, just a few kilometers from the finish.

Enough to give ideas to backpackers, who have the first opportunity to stretch their legs.

  • Perhaps we will see on this ground the first spark among the French runners.

We think in particular of Franck Bonnamour, Benoît Cosnefroy or Warren Barguil.

  • At the start of this stage, the yellow jersey is on the shoulders of Wout van Aert, who finished second three times in the first three stages.

The Belgian also owns the green jersey, while the polka dot jersey is worn by Dane Magnus Cort Nielsen.

Farvel Denmark!

After three stages in Denmark marked by huge crowds along the roads, the Tour de France peloton is now back in France.

The fervor should also be there, in this region of the North known to love cycling.

We hope that this 4th stage will be livelier, after fairly linear scenarios on the flat Danish roads.

In any case, there is plenty to do today, with six listed climbs (4th category) between the mountains of Flanders and those of Boulonnais.

“Long-term and numerous attacks are to be expected, especially in the coastal and potentially windy final: the passages near Caps Gris-Nez and Blanc-Nez could prove decisive”, announces director Christian Prudhomme.

The people are only asking for that, and with French people in front if possible.
