- But of course it is always one of the highlights of the year to come home and play in front of the home crowd, Mirjam Björklund continues.

Soon 24-year-old Björklund can look back on a 2022 that has been her best year in her career in terms of results.

After, among other things, qualifying for the main tournaments in both Paris and Wimbledon, Björklund has gone rocket up the world rankings.

219 when the year began - now 125.

- I have made some daring decisions that I am happy with and that have given results.

I have had the chance to go to a little bigger and tougher competitions.

A few times I have managed to qualify and a few times I have missed the main competition but still been able to stay and train with the best players.

Over the past six months, Mirjam Björklund has gained greater maturity in her game.

Her acknowledged strong foundation, not least a forehand with significant capacity, has been mixed with a little more tactics and dynamic play.

- I have become better at valuing my game and when I should use my best shots, she says.

Björklund's stated goal is to reach the top 100 in the world by 2022 or early next year.
