The 44-year-old Croatian technician has signed a two-year contract with OM.

Former high-level central defender, he played for almost 10 years at Juventus Turin and has 55 caps with Croatia, with which he finished 3rd in the 1998 World Cup. His coaching career, which began at home at Hadjuk Split , brought him to Greece at PAOK Salonika or even to Turkey at Galatasaray.

But it is in Italy that he is gradually proving himself, first at Udinese and then above all, last season, with Hellas Verona, which he led to 9th place in the Series. At the end of the season.

However, he has never coached a club qualified for the Champions League, a competition that OM will play next season.

The new Olympian coach will be presented on Tuesday afternoon at a press conference.

Igor Tudor therefore replaces Jorge Sampaoli, whose departure was announced on Friday.

OM and the Argentinian separated "by mutual agreement" after disagreements over the football transfer window.
