China News Agency, Beijing, July 3. The 2022 Budapest Swimming World Championships will continue to compete in diving events on July 2, local time.

In the women's three-meter springboard final, China's Chen Yiwen won the gold medal with 366.90 points, the first time in her career that she won the gold medal in this event.

Another Chinese player, Chang Yani, won the bronze medal with 325.85 points, and Canada's Waller won the silver medal with 329.00 points.

The women's three-meter springboard is a traditional competitive sport of the Chinese diving team, with the birth of iconic Chinese diving figures such as Gao Min, Guo Jingjing, Wu Minxia and Shi Tingmao.

After the Tokyo Olympics, with the retirement of Shi Tingmao, Wang Han and others, young players such as Chen Yiwen and Chang Yani were pushed to the front.

Chen Yiwen, born in 1999, won the women's one-meter springboard championship at the 2019 Gwangju World Championships.

In the three-meter springboard this time, Chen Yiwen played steadily in the preliminaries and semi-finals, and both advanced as the first place.

In the final, Chen Yiwen's performance almost made no mistakes. Four of the five rounds of action were the highest points in the round, and he finally won the championship with 366.90 points.

Chang Yani, on the other hand, performed abnormally. There were major mistakes in three rounds of movements. The most difficult movement turned forward for three and a half weeks and bent her body forward. Because she could not fully stretch her body when entering the water, the splash was large. This jump only got 57.35 points, the ranking slipped to fifth.

Fortunately, she performed well in the last jump, and the Japanese player who was ranked second before made a major mistake. Chang Yani was able to counterattack and won the third place with 325.85 points.

This is the 11th time in a row that the Chinese team has won this title at the World Championships.

After the game, Chen Yiwen said that today's action was relatively conservative, and he also had some pressure. He was much more relaxed after the game, and he would be more confident in the next three-meter springboard.

Chang Yani said frankly that she failed to bring out her level and made big mistakes, and she has to continue to make up for the shortcomings.

The next women's double 3-meter springboard will compete in partnership.

The men's 10-meter platform preliminaries and semi-finals were also held on the same day. Chinese players Yang Jian and Yang Hao took the top two. In the preliminaries, defending champion Yang Jian ranked first. In the semi-finals, Yang Hao secured the top spot. Unexpected champions will also be produced between the two Chinese players.
