The scandal around hockey player Ivan Fedotov continues to develop rapidly.

According to the lawyer of the athlete Alexei Ponomarev, on July 1, his ward was allegedly taken to the military registration and enlistment office.

Earlier, there were reports in the media about the detention of Fedotov in St. Petersburg.

It was noted that Fedotov could face up to two years in prison due to draft evasion.

The lawyer said that at the moment there is no exact information about the whereabouts of the hockey player, but on the night from Saturday to Sunday he was allegedly sent to Severomorsk.

According to Ponomarev, the athlete spent Saturday at the Naval Hospital: according to him, the goalkeeper felt unwell at the military registration and enlistment office, and an ambulance was called for him.

As Ponomarev assured, his ward's gastritis worsened.

He also reported that he had problems with the spine and feet.

“Now Ivan has health problems.

As I understand it, against the background of nervous stress, he had an exacerbation of gastritis.

Ivan feels bad, ”R-Sport quotes the lawyer.

At the same time, Ponomarev assured that Ivan never hid from the draft.

“When the employees of the military registration and enlistment office decided to somehow find him, they immediately found him.

Ivan followed them like a respectable citizen, who is told that he should appear at the military enlistment office.

The recruiting activities have passed.

This verdict has been appealed in court today, it has been suspended,” the lawyer emphasized.

According to lawyer Artur Ovcharov, who specializes in military conscription, Fedotov is not facing a prison term, which is provided for by Article 328 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Evasion of military and alternative civilian service.”

With a high degree of probability, it will cost an administrative fine and be sent to the army, the expert believes.

“It all depends on whether Fedotov had any subpoenas under which he signed and did not appear ... If there was no malicious intent, then up to two years in prison, or up to 200 thousand fines he will not be given.

Only an administrative fine,” Ovcharov said.

A R-Sport source said that a representative of the Russian Hockey Federation is dealing with the goalkeeper's case.

And according to Match TV, the FHR does not send lists of players playing for the national team anywhere to resolve their issues with the army.

“An exhaustive list of grounds for exemption from conscription and deferment from military service is specified in the law.

There is no talk of any “directives,” the source stressed.

At the same time, the FHR has not yet commented on this topic.

Alexander Guskov, vice-president of the KHL for the development of youth hockey, did the same.

Moreover, the athlete's agent Igor Parashkin is still silent.

But Chuck Fletcher, general manager of the Philadelphia Flyers, with whom the goalkeeper signed a one-year contract in May, stressed that the club is aware of what happened and is closely monitoring the situation.

But in the KHL teams, the scandal involving Fedotov is more readily discussed.

So, the general director of Avtomobilist, Oleg Gross, called for giving athletes a respite.

According to him, in Yekaterinburg, draft-age hockey players study at universities and have a deferment from military service.

The general director of Torpedo, Alexander Kharlamov, emphasized that now "the army issue is more on the shoulders of the guys themselves, because they themselves choose where to go after graduation."

“This issue is always under our control, any personnel department will say that when applying for a job, they will definitely ask for military documents.

As for club work, we control it ... Currently, not a single KHL club, even CSKA and SKA, are related to the army, ”said Kharlamov.

In turn, the general manager of "Siberia" Kirill Fastovsky stressed that hockey players should not be taken lightly on the issue of conscription.

“At our club, we monitor these things very carefully and draw the attention of all players to them.

For me, the story is generally surprising from this point of view - how this could happen.

In general, this should not be taken lightly, ”Fastovsky explained.
