Slovenia withdrew from facing Egypt in the Mediterranean

The Slovenian Handball Federation has officially announced that it will not play the rest of the Mediterranean Games, including Friday's match against the Egyptian team in the last round of the group.

The Slovenian Federation stated that its decision was due to the infection of a large number of Slovenian players with the Corona virus, according to what it published on its official account on the social networking site.

Egypt's handball team succeeded in winning the first match at the expense of North Macedonia, and in the second match it overcame Serbia, and in the third match, the Egyptian team continued its superiority at the expense of the group's teams by defeating Tunisia.

The handball team qualified for the semi-finals of the Mediterranean Games, after the victory it achieved at the expense of its Tunisian counterpart, and was waiting to meet Slovenia in order to determine its position on deciding the top spot in the group, in case of victory, or qualifying in second place in case of loss.
