The fastest of the Swedish men in the sprint was Gustav Bergman - and when the 31-year-old finished he was in the lead, 13 seconds ahead of the then second, Norwegian Havard Sandstad Eidsmo.

But then just over ten orienteers would finish after him.

- It was intensive orientation and very important to do everything 100 percent right, says Bergman.

Kasper Harlem Fosser was overwhelmed fast and poked Bergman down from first place, by a margin of 26 seconds, and his winning time was never threatened.

Britain's Kristian Jones was the one who in the end threatened Bergman for the silver, but in the finish he was four seconds behind Bergman.

Bergman has a European Championship silver in sprint, from 2016. From world championships at senior level, he mainly has medals in relay and in middle distance - but now he also has a World Cup silver in individual sprint.
