Last month, SVT Sport, together with Danish DR and Norwegian NRK, was able to show how three official World Cup hotels do not want to receive gay guests - while several others urge guests not to show that they are gay.

The Swedish Football Association's general secretary Håkan Sjöstrand then promised that SvFF would raise it with Fifa and the World Cup organizers.

It's done now.

"Informed about what applies"

At the beginning of the week, a Uefa delegation was on site in Qatar for meetings with Fifa, the World Cup's organizing committee and local authorities, a meeting in which Sjöstrand and the Swedish Federation's General Counsel Tobias Tibell participated via a link from Sweden.

- I brought up your news during part of the meeting when both Fifa and the "Supreme Committee" (organizing committee) participated.

Fifa then replied that they had been in direct contact with the three hotels in question, and then informed what applies, and that everyone should be allowed to stay there, Tibell tells SVT Sport, and continues:

- In addition, they stated that they have continuous information that goes out to all 69 official World Cup hotels.

So they think that they and we should be able to feel confident that everyone should be informed about what applies.

The organizers have refused an answer

On Sunday, SVT Sport reported that after the reporting, together with NRK and DR, also after the revelation about the hotels, we sought Fifa and the World Cup organizers with new questions, to follow up how they acted afterwards.

Fifa then responded immediately, while the local organizing group refused to respond - despite repeated attempts.

This was also raised by the Swedish Football Association during this week's meeting.

- But there was no response from the Supreme Committee.

Then I wanted to emphasize the importance of them feedback on the questions that you (SVT, DR and NRK) sent.

But I did not get an answer at the meeting, despite that, says Tobias Tibell.

- There were also more unions that emphasized that the organizers must answer how it could be like this.

They have to take it seriously.

The message: Rainbow flags allowed

The conditions for LGBTQ people during the World Cup in Qatar was one of the topics that was discussed most during this week's meetings.

Among other things, the high-profile question about whether LGBTQ symbols, such as rainbow flags, should be allowed or not.

- We spent a lot of time on it.

And there was Fifa's answer that the parts they control, that is, in the arenas and in the fan zone, where that type of attribute should be allowed.

And the answer from the organizing committee was that even in the city, that type of symbols should be allowed, says Tobias Tibell, and develops:

- They are very much based on the theme that everyone is welcome.
