The World Athletics Federation's integrity unit, AIU, shut down Okagbare after the trial heat at the Olympics, which she won at 11.05 and was a medal candidate.

She was not allowed to run in the semifinals seven hours later.

According to AIU, Okagbare had tested positive for growth hormone during training in Samorin, Slovakia, on July 19, something that World Athletics informed her the hours before the Olympic semi-finals.

"Call me as soon as possible.

They tell me that my result is positive for growth hormone.

I do not understand it ", messed Okagbare to his doping supplier after the positive test at the Olympics in Tokyo.

This according to the investigation by FBI agent Ryan Serkes who seized Okagbares mobile and computer when she returned to Jacksonville, USA, where she has her base, after the championship in Tokyo.

A couple of weeks after the Olympics, AIU announced that Okagbare also tested positive, manipulated with the doping drug Epo, at the Nigerian championships in June, which now means that Nigeria loses the place in the 4x100 meters at the World Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

- If a member violates the anti-doping rules, everyone in the team must pay the price.

In this case, Nigeria has lost an important qualifying spot.

These are the rules and we will not compromise on integrity, says AIU's Brett Clothier.

AIU has also taken part in the US Department of Justice, which has a lawsuit with a supplier of doping substances before the Olympics in Tokyo 2021. With the support of the FBI, it was possible to prove that Okagbare had an SMS contact with the doping dealer.

The drug dealer was the first to be prosecuted under the so-called Rodchenkov Act, which was introduced in 2020 and is named after the Russian ex-anti-doping chief, the whistleblower Gregory Rodchenkov, who fled to the United States where he lives in a secret location.

During the investigation, Okagbare has refused to cooperate with AIU.

She was suspended for the time being during the Olympics, had four years in the autumn and ten years in February.

Now she gets another year and the suspension lands in eleven years in this protracted process.
