Mido reveals the reason why Shikabala and Mahmoud Al-Khatib did not shine with the Egyptian national team

The former Egyptian national team star, Ahmed Hossam Mido, spoke about his relationship with the former coach of the Pharaohs national team, Hassan Shehata, and the difference between the level of Al-Ahly club president Mahmoud Al-Khatib, and the level of Zamalek player Mahmoud Abdel Razak Shikabala.

Mido said in televised statements to Al-Mehwar channel: "Mahmoud Al-Khatib, the current president of the Egyptian Al-Ahly Club, was unlucky when he was a player because of his presence in an unorganized generation in Egyptian football."

He added: "Shikabala was also unlucky when he was at the best time in his career, but he was unlucky with the presence of Hassan Shehata (at the head of the technical management of the Egyptian national team between 2004 and 2011), who did not like Shikabala."

And Mido added: "Hassan Shehata did not like any player whose character would be a tyrant over the team, and Shikabala was a tyrant."

He concluded: "Hassan Shehata did not like me either as a player because I had a strong personality as a player, and I was giving instructions to the players."

It is noteworthy that Hassan Shehata is the historical coach of the Egyptian national team, as he led the "Pharaohs" to crown 3 consecutive titles of the African Nations Cup in 2006, 2008 and 2010.
