The mother of the Egyptian player, Mostafa Asal, entered the stadium to celebrate with him and share the joy of being crowned in the final "Great Eight" squash tournament, which Egypt hosted from 21-26 this month.
Mustafa Asal (the world's fourth-ranked) won the final match on Sunday against New Zealand's Paul Cole (the second-ranked) 3-0 in a match that lasted 76 minutes.
And the player posted - through his personal account on Twitter - a video clip of the moment his mother entered the stadium to congratulate him and share the celebration, and a snapshot of the warm embrace between them, as Egyptian activists circulated widely on social networking sites.
Asal participated in another tweet in which he showed pictures of his embrace with his mother the moment he won the match, and wrote on it, "I am nothing without my mother. She is the reason for everything I am and everything I will be. Thank you, Mom."
Sports accounts and tweets described the snapshot of Asal's mother entering the stadium as a "video of the season", as she showed her feelings of pride and motivation for her son after his victory in the final and the crowning of the Eight Greats Championship for the second time in a row.
