In addition to the former national team captain for Sweden, Pia Sundhage is also one of the players who took Sweden's only European Championship gold so far in 1984.

When asked if it's time for a new blue-yellow gold jubilation this summer, she answers:

- Yes!

Point.

When the 62-year-old left Sweden in 2017, the team had just left the European Championships in the Netherlands in the quarterfinals and there was talk that other national teams had come in the race and passed.

- The players and the management team that have been involved after 2017 have done a fantastic job.

I hope they enjoy the trip because it is at the very highest international level.

Sweden is ranked second, you were in an Olympic final where you would have won gold, I think.

In addition, in the eyes of many, they are favorites for the European Championship gold.

It is a journey right up that I am very impressed by, says Sundhage at a press conference.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, her injured and young Brazil will face Sweden in an expected record match at Friends arena in Solna.

Over 30,000 tickets have been sold for the training match.

- It's a unique feeling.

It's a long journey if you think about what it was like from the beginning, and there are a lot of people who want to see Brazil and Sweden.

I'm incredibly proud.

I will write that somewhere in my book.

To be part of a record is always very cool, I think.

The European Championships in England are played from 6 July to 31 July.
