Long jump star Malaika Mihambo has secured her sixth German championship title on the way to her desired title defenses at world and European championships.

The Olympic champion was unbeatable in Berlin with 6.85 meters. With her best performance of the season of 7.09 meters, she is currently number one in the world.

"It's always a competition that you have to win.

I'm happy that I was able to prevail.

The triumph gives her "a lot of self-confidence," said the athlete from the LG Kurpfalz.

Second place went to Maryse Luzolo from Königsteiner LV with 6.60 meters ahead of Mikaelle Assani from Karlsruhe, who managed 6.54.

The 28-year-old Mihambo competed in the “finals” in Berlin while still training, in order to compete in the super year of athletics at the World Championships in Eugene/USA (July 15 to 24) and the European Championships at home in Munich (July 15 to 24). August 21) to be in top form.

"It's all about preparing as best as possible for the World Cup and then the European Championships in Munich," Mihambo had told SID in advance.

In her jump to 6.85 meters, Mihambo gave away ten centimeters, three attempts were invalid.
