Zidane: Benzema is my brother, who was not born by my mother!

World football legend, French Zinedine Zidane, said that his relationship with his compatriot and former Real Madrid player, Karim Benzema, is very close.

Zidane explained, during an interview with the French newspaper, L'Equipe, "The relationship with Karim goes beyond the limits of the stadium, and there is an emotional side. He is like a younger brother that my mother did not give birth to. I am the youngest of my siblings. I talked to him a lot about my career, because our journey seems similar."

He added, "I have met him since he joined Real Madrid. I was an advisor to the club, then an assistant to Carlo Ancelotti. We meet a little bit at the moment, but we exchange messages.. But he knows where he can find me, and I know exactly where I can find him."

He continued: "I am not surprised by Karim Benzema's level last season. He continues what he offers. I know his capabilities. He was special all the time with Real Madrid, and now he is exceptional."

Zidane nominated the roosters to win the Ballon d'Or this year, saying: "The whole world believes that he deserves it."
