Mohamed Barakat apologizes to Ihab Jalal..and admits the failure of the Egyptian Federation

Member of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Federation, Mohamed Barakat, apologized to Ihab Galal, the former coach of the Egyptian national team, after his quick departure after only three games of taking over the task.

He told Al-Mehwar channel: "We must admit that there was a rush to choose the coach's file after Queiroz's departure. The truth is that we held a session with Queiroz and negotiated the renewal, and there was acceptance from both parties, then the matter changed and I don't know why."

He stressed that some of those who demanded the appointment of Ihab Galal were the ones who demanded his departure even before he assumed the task, explaining that the attack against the Egyptian Federation and the demand for the collective resignation had become a tone that many echoed instead of helping the union develop.

Barakat admitted that there was a failure on the part of the Football Association in the crisis of choosing the stadium for the final of the African Champions League.

He said that the mistakes that occurred on the part of the Egyptian Federation must be recognized, especially the crisis of hosting the Champions League final.

He added, "The Egyptian Federation cost Al-Ahly to lose the Champions League title, we must admit that, if Al-Ahly faced Wydad in any stadium outside Morocco, he would have come out victorious, because Al-Ahly is better in stages at the technical level."

He continued, "There is indeed a fatal mistake that occurred in the crisis of the arrival of a letter from CAF to offer to host the Champions' Final, and I personally do not know anything about this letter or the Board of Directors of the Federation."

He stressed that he is sad because of the attack by the fans of the Red Castle, but he is not angry, because the Al-Ahly fans have a great advantage over him in his career, and Al-Ahly fans prefer the club’s interest over anyone, even Mahmoud Al-Khatib, the club’s president himself.

Barakat indicated that accusing the Federation of fraud and failure is unacceptable, as there may be negligence, but not corruption or fraud, as some speak, stressing that talking about the resignation of the Egyptian Federation will bring Egyptian football back, several years, because it will restore the time of temporary committees.
