The Duna Arena in Budapest saw the French team glean two new charms this Friday, to bring its total to eight at the World Swimming Championships.
The Marseillaise Mélanie Henique ranked second in 25"31 behind the Swedish Sarah Sjöström (24"95), titled for the fourth consecutive time.

Henique had already taken bronze over the distance in Shanghai in 2011. The other Frenchwoman involved in this final, Marrie Wattel, took seventh place (25"79). In the process, Maxime Grousset, who had obtained his place in final after a jump-off on Thursday, won bronze in the 50m freestyle in 21.57, on his father's birthday.
The Caledonian's second medal in these Worlds after silver in the 100m freestyle.
Briton Ben Proud won gold (21"32) and American Michael Andrew (21"41) came in.
