On June 9-11, the first competition in the Saudi-backed tour LIV Golf was held at Centurion Club in London.

Now the European Tour (DP World Tour) announces that their players who participated in that competition will be suspended from upcoming competitions: Scottish Open, Barbasol Championship and Barracuda Championship.

The players are also fined around SEK 1.2 million.

"All actions in life have consequences and there is no difference with professional sports, especially if a person breaks the rules.

That is what has happened now with several of our members ", says Keith Pelley, CEO of the European Tour.

The European tour players who participated in the LIV Golf competition include: Louis Oosthuizen, Sergio Garcia and Martin Kaymer.

Brooks Kopeka, who joined the "Saudi league" earlier this week, has previously been announced as one of the names in the Scottish Open.
