The Emirates Football Association Board of Directors valued the generous support provided by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, to the sports sector in general and football in particular. This came during the meeting of the Board of Directors, which was held today, Thursday, under the chairmanship of Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, and in the presence of the members.

The council discussed topics on the agenda, foremost of which are the reports of the national teams and technical affairs committees, competitions, referees, finance, beach soccer, women’s soccer, strategy and investment, community affairs and development, as well as the topics of the General Secretariat, while the minutes of the previous meeting held in last April.

The Board of Directors approved the participation of our national teams during the coming period and the preparation programs for each team, whether the first national team, which is awaiting regional and continental participation, which is the Arabian Gulf Cup “Gulf 25” scheduled for next January, and the West Asian Federation Championship, which will be hosted by the state next March. and the Asian Cup finals next June.

As for the Olympic team, born in 2001, it will participate in the West Asian U-23 Federation Championship next November, the Arab Gulf Cup U-23 Championship in August of 2023, and the Asian U-23 qualifiers in September 2023, which qualifies for the Paris Olympics 2024, The U-20 youth team will participate in the Arab Cup next August, the Asian U-20 qualifiers next September, and for the U-17 youth team, it will participate in the Arab U-17 Cup next August, and the Asian Cup qualifiers in October next.

During the meeting, the report of the Competitions Committee was reviewed, which included the tournaments that will be organized during the new season for all stages, and the adoption of the establishment of the President's Cup 2022-2023 version with a knockout system from one match from the 32nd round to the semi-finals, which will be played in a two-match knockout system. After canceling the preliminary qualifiers, and assigning the work team of the Competitions Committee to prepare the mechanism for the lottery.

The Board of Directors praised the efforts of the referees committee and those in charge of the video referee technology, after the Emirates Football Association passed all stages, obtained the final approval from the International Federation “FIFA” and included it as an experienced and experienced organizer with regard to the use of technology, and the mechanism for the use of foreign referees was adopted.

The Board of Directors was briefed on the developments of the Federation’s strategy, institutional performance indicators and reports for the beach and women’s soccer committees, as well as the recommendations of the committee to revise the regulations after the workshop that was organized during the last period in the presence and participation of club representatives.
