Only 15-year-old Summer McIntosh has been crowned world champion in the 200 meter butterfly in Budapest.

The Canadian swimmer also set a junior world record in 2:05.20 thanks to a strong final sprint.

It was her second medal at the title fights in the Hungarian capital.

Almost two hours later, she even followed up with her third medal with relay bronze in the 4x200 meter freestyle.

She won silver in the 400m freestyle.

In the butterfly race on Wednesday, she relegated the USA's Hali Flickinger and Zhang Yufei from China to second and third place.

The main protagonist in the men's 100-meter freestyle was also young and very fast.

17-year-old David Popovici of Romania won in 47.58 seconds ahead of Frenchman Maxime Grousset and Joshua Liendo Edwards of Canada.

Popovici had already secured the title over double the distance on Monday.

German swimmers did not take part in the evening session with the finals.
