“I haven’t heard anything about compensation”

After the start of the special operation in Ukraine, domestic football is going through extremely difficult times.

Clubs have been suspended from participation in European competitions, and the national team has been deprived of a chance to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Another kind of punch in the gut was FIFA's ruling, which allows foreigners to unilaterally suspend contracts with clubs until June 30, 2023.

A similar decision was made by the board of the organization back in March, but it was valid until the end of last season.

Now, players or coaches from other countries who cannot reach an agreement with their clubs by the end of June of this year or testify otherwise in writing will have the opportunity to continue their careers elsewhere.

Exactly the same restrictions apply to Ukraine.

In the RFU, the FIFA decision was extremely dissatisfied and promised the clubs to provide legal assistance and other support in the event that they wish to challenge it.

“In addition, we believe that a priori it cannot apply to contracts concluded after February 24, 2022,” the RFU communications service emphasized.

Domestic teams also expressed indignation at what had happened.

Zenit CEO Alexander Medvedev compared the transfer rule to a robbery.

At the same time, he recalled that in the spring not a single player from St. Petersburg took advantage of him.

In his opinion, it will be possible to agree with everyone even now.

“My attitude to this is categorical.

For many players, contracts may end after this period.

We must not forget that the clubs paid serious amounts.

But I didn’t hear anything about compensation, ”the Championship official quotes.

And the sports director of Rubin, Oleg Yarovinsky, lamented that the federation's decision was "dictated by hysteria and delirium," and athletes who will lose the opportunity to enter into long-term contracts will suffer from it.

Roman Teryushkov, a member of the Khimki Supervisory Board, turned out to be a little more optimistic.

In his opinion, a number of foreigners will still remain in Russia, like Maciej Rybus, who joined Spartak.

But the general director of Ufa, who flew to the FNL, Shamil Gazizov, on the contrary, believes that even good salaries will not keep some legionnaires in Russia now.

“Yes, of course, the giants have the opportunity to pay serious money, but do not forget about European competitions.

Foreigners want to try themselves there, and not be content with playing in the RPL.

It doesn't have to be all about terms and conditions.

Nobody canceled the sports result either.

Other things being equal, people will make a choice not in favor of domestic teams, but in favor of those that can perform at the international level, ”the functionary said in an interview with RT.

"All foreign players respect their contracts"

In fact, after the FIFA decision, Russian clubs found themselves in an extremely difficult situation.

In the absence of a desire to negotiate on the part of the players and their representatives, they can lose them for free.

First of all, we are talking about those whose contracts expire in the summer of 2023, because at the end of the temporary rule they will become free agents.

There are a lot of such people in RPL teams.

Dejan Lovren (Zenit), Yaka Biyol (CSKA), Guillermo Varela (Dynamo), Jordan Larsson (Spartak), Mateo Cassierra (Sochi), Dennis Hadjikadunich (Rostov ") and others.

Some of them, such as Larsson and Hadjikadunich went on loan in the spring.

At the same time, a paradoxical situation arises when clubs have to pay for performers who do not play for them.

For example, according to journalist Sergei Yegorov, Rubin continues to transfer tranches to the accounts of the Danish Midtjylanne (the ransom amount was € 7 million), although he was forced to let him go on loan to the former team.

In this situation, sports lawyer Mikhail Prokopets was the toughest.

He believes that membership in FIFA at the moment does not bring any benefit to the country.

At first, he explained, Russia was left without international competition, and now they have deprived the rights to football players, who were purchased for a lot of money.

“I do not call for sudden movements to directly break off relations.

The decision should be made at the level of the country's leadership.

But such thoughts cannot but occur to the clubs.

Call them and ask.

Here you need a balanced decision, not an emotional one.

You have to take into account the nuances.

You can leave FIFA quickly, but it won’t be soon to get back, ”he explained in an interview with the Championship.

It is still difficult to say who will want to use the transfer rule for the remaining days.

Surely, Krasnodar midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak, who recently complained that he was forced to return to Russia, will do this.

Larsson bluntly stated that he did not want to play in the RPL until the situation in Ukraine was resolved.

And fans of Zenit were seriously frightened by rumors about the possible departure of Wilmar Barrios, but his agent, together with the club, quickly denied them.

Representatives of two other Latin American stars from St. Petersburg, Claudinho and Malcolm, also stressed that they remain.

Finally, according to Lokomotiv's sports director Thomas Zorn, none of the foreigners will leave the team.

“All foreign Lokomotiv players respect their contracts, want to continue playing for the club and are preparing for the upcoming season at our renovated training base in Bakovka.

The only player who has not yet joined the team is Jan Kuchta.

In agreement with the club, he was allowed to arrive 12 days later, ”Sport24 quotes Zorn.

“Russia is being openly strangled, including in football”

According to well-known agents, FIFA's decision will not have a strong impact on domestic football.

So, Aleksey Safonov recalled that after the start of the special operation in Ukraine, the Europeans already do not come to Russia, but the Latin Americans, despite everything, are ready to play in the RPL.

“I would not call what happened a tragedy for the clubs.

FIFA acted quite predictably.

Sport has not been out of politics for a long time, and Russia is being openly strangled somewhere, including in football, ”Safonov emphasized in an interview with RT.

He does not expect a massive outflow of legionnaires, since they are still able to pay good money in the country.

For example, Krasnodar players Cayo Pantalean and Jon Cordoba left Krasnodar in the spring, but returned back in the summer.

“If you don’t want to play in Russia, go to Cyprus.

But no one will create such financial conditions for you.

For example, Spartak was headed by 33-year-old Guillermo Abascal.

It is clear that he will never see a salary, as in Moscow, in his life.

The Spaniard will not run,” Safonov added.

The agent is also optimistic about transfers from Russia to other countries.

According to him, they will definitely find a loophole in the FIFA rules in order to receive compensation.

One option is to sign a loan agreement.

“For example, the club must pay €3 million to a footballer for the season. He has the right to terminate the contract at any time.

You can draw up a loan agreement for this amount.

In this case, FIFA will not protect the player in any way.

Either work to the end, or if you want to leave, pay the money.

And this is just one way that came to my mind, ”Safonov explained.

Dmitry Selyuk also supported him.

He believes that now a lot will primarily depend on what kind of relationship the teams will build with legionnaires and their representatives.

“My clients Senin Sebay and Mohamed Konate from Akhmat have not gone anywhere.

But some players, unfortunately, use this situation and manipulate.

For example, Rubin could have received good money from Napoli for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who broke the agreement, citing persecution at home.

At the same time, another Georgian, Gia Grigalava, continued to calmly play for Khimki, ”Selyuk said in an interview with RT.

He does not believe in the mass exodus of football players.

The main reason is good salaries.

And we are talking not only about the salaries themselves, but also about the high level of taxes in European countries, while in Russia they are forced to part with only 13% of their income.

“Let's take the Zenit legionnaires.

I am sure that none of them in their lives will earn in Europe even half the amount that in St. Petersburg.

Or remember Krychowiak, who at first shouted that he could not play here, but now he has returned.

The Pole understands perfectly well: no one will give him such a salary.

I am convinced that the top clubs will lose almost no one.

Only small teams can lose players,” Selyuk is sure.

And foreign performers performing in the RPL, in his opinion, are not particularly in demand in the strong clubs of the Old World in recent years.

As an example, he cited Nikola Vlasic, who was considered one of the main stars of the RPL, but failed to prove himself at West Ham.
