The President of the Arab Chess Federation and Chairman of the Sharjah Cultural Chess Club, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Mualla, said that restoring Emirati sports brilliance in its various aspects needs to develop national training and administrative competencies, give them the full opportunity to work, and be patient with them to be able to continue advancing many sports, including football, stressing that the sums spent on foreign coaches and players in various sports did not achieve the desired goals, while Emirati athletes succeeded in achieving this in many sports benefits, noting that the use of foreign expertise is very important, but it is preferable that this coincide with granting Citizen athletes have the full opportunity to work at all managerial, coaching and playing levels.

He told "Emirates Today": "Emirati sport enjoys great support from the wise leadership, which makes us always optimistic about the future of sport, as there is no excuse for media support, infrastructure or administrative work, all of these elements are available."

He continued, "Emirati sport needs a real study in the project of making the Olympic champion, and not to be long-term, so that the athlete does not feel bored, and at the same time, the Emirati sport needs to search for weaknesses that prevented access to international podiums easily in the past years. Except in specific cases, with the importance of searching for the reasons for this, and the lack of accountability indirectly contributed to the delay in achieving achievements, so this mechanism must be activated if the need arises.

He added:

Sheikh Saud bin Abdulaziz Al-Mualla stressed that the re-evaluation will return later with positive results, which is an important reason for restoring the tone of victories, stressing that dismissing coaches after any failure is not the required solution.

With regard to Emirati football, Al Mualla said: “Increasing the number of foreign players in clubs will bring limited benefits to the national team, but it will reduce the opportunities for the participation of national players, and thus reducing the number may contribute to the discovery of distinguished national players,” noting that the increase in the number of foreigners serves the clubs, But it does not serve the national team.

He added, "In conjunction with this proposal, we need, at the same time, to conduct a comprehensive study that serves the development of the citizen player, and to select foreign coaches in the age stages."

He explained, "There is no dispute that foreign and resident players have accumulated technical capabilities and experience, but I find that paying attention to national players, and spending the amounts spent on foreigners, can develop them better and lead them to excellence."

Sheikh Saud bin Abdulaziz Al-Mualla stressed that it is necessary to provide support to the citizen trainer as best as possible, and that maintaining distinguished training energies, such as Abdulaziz Al-Anbari, Salem Rabie, and Mahdi Ali, is very important, because of their excellent training mentality, which needs support. And provide opportunities for its development, and other names are present in the football arena.
