Even though the tournament had time to start at the end of December, they are now starting all over again.

Sweden plays in a group with the USA, Switzerland, Germany and Austria.

On Tuesday, the national team captain Tomas Montén presented a preliminary JVM squad to fight for the medals.

And it's a squad without NHL stars like Lucas Raymond and Alexander Holtz.

- We have had an ongoing discussion.

Unfortunately, Lucas or Alex will not play.

Their clubs think that the tournament is wrong in time in terms of recharging for the coming season, says Montén.

Several new faces

To a large extent, it is a similar squad that played JVM last winter.

However, Jonathan Lekkerimäki and Mattias Hävelid, among others, are in the squad that was involved in taking U18 gold earlier this year.

In addition, William Wallinder, who was last poked, is in the squad.

- I think Willima had a very good season last year.

Especially from the middle game where JVM would be played for the first time.

As I said to William when we spoke, I did not think he went into the role he should have when I took the team out then.

But he has had a fantastic development in Rögle and really belongs in the squad now.

The troupe will gather on July 29 and travel to Canada shortly thereafter.
