A member of the Khorfakkan Football Company, the official spokesman, Jamal Buhendi, confirmed that it is difficult for Khorfakkan Club to achieve a championship title next season in the ADNOC Pro League, but indicated that the team's goal is higher than the competition for survival.

He told "Emirates Today": "The reality is that it is difficult to achieve a championship now, but this does not prevent us from dreaming. The Bani Yas team was close to us last season, but in the season before last, it almost achieved the league championship."

He indicated: "There are simple things that can make the team a competitor for championships, including having distinguished players from citizens and foreigners, in addition to two distinguished technical and administrative bodies," hoping that Khorfakkan will be a competitor for one of the new season's championships.

He continued: "Our goal is higher than the competition for survival, in light of the great and unlimited support from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. Rather, we aim to obtain a better position in the ranking ladder. It is true that we do not compete for the league, but Our realistic goal is to reserve a position in the middle of the table, the dream and ambition is to achieve a championship for sure, but the reality requires us to do our work gradually, and to obtain a distinguished position in the next season.”

Khorfakkan finished last season in the ADNOC Professional League in tenth place with 28 points.

Regarding the contract with the citizen coach Abdulaziz Al-Anbari, to train the “Essours” next season, Buhendi confirmed: “The football company contracted with the coach Al-Anbari not because he is a friend or because he is a citizen coach, but based on his experience in the UAE League, and his achievement of the League and Super Cup with a team Sharjah.

With regard to supporting the national teams with talented players, Buhendi stressed that there will be great work in this aspect, starting from the club's age levels, through contracting with the academy, and through a plan of action for the age groups.

With regard to the goalkeeping position, he said: “It is certain that any team looking for excellence or achieving a championship must have a distinguished goalkeeper. There is more interest in the goalkeeping position, through the age groups as well.”

He concluded his speech, addressing the audience of Khorfakkan, and said: "We have to strive and work and promise you the best, and you have to support us with your presence, and we are ready to accept everyone's opinions, and our doors are open to everyone."
