At the Swedish Championships in Piteå, Charlotte Kalla announced that she would end her career.

On Monday, it became clear that Charlotte Kalla will now help skiers in the junior national team which is currently at camp on Ulvön in Ångermanland.

- It feels super fun to be in this environment with so many young curious girls and boys who are willing to do a good job in terms of training, says Charlotte Kalla to SVT Sport.

The first session for the camp was a three and a half hour run, when Charlotte Kalla showed up to join.

- It also felt fun to surprise them, they did not know that I would participate in the training, says Kalla.

"There were many questions"

The only thing the riders knew was that they were going to a lecture, but not with whom.

The former ski star will also take part in a camp this autumn, something the juniors did not know either.

- It was a bit quiet in the group so, then Andreas (Domeij, coach of the junior national team) told what the setup would be.

What was their reaction?

- There were still many questions during the morning.

"What, are you going to live with us too"?

Therefore, Kalla accepted the assignment

That Kalla accepted the assignment is largely due to the fact that Andreas Domeijs has a training philosophy that she shares, she tells SVT Sport.

- It matches so very well with the common thread I had in my training throughout my career, she says.

What do you hope to contribute?

- You hang out until tonight and it's not just on the training sessions you are a skier, it's a puzzle you have to put together to be as recovered as possible for the next session in order to have a sustainable career.

- I think I have experience of being able to deliver and perform over time.
