Haruka Kitaguchi set a record of 63 meters and 13 centimeters in the women's javelin throw of the Diamond League, the world's highest level of athletics, and won her first victory.

Kitaguchi, the Japanese record holder for women's javelin throws, has been competing in the Diamond League, the world's premier tournament, after winning consecutive championships at the Japan Championships this month.

Kitaguchi participated in the tournament held in Paris on the 18th, throwing 63 meters and 13 centimeters in the third throw, and won the first victory over the bronze medalist of the Tokyo Olympics, Kelsey-Lee Barber of Australia.

After the match, Kitaguchi updated his Twitter account and posted the joy of winning, saying, "I won the Diamond League for the first time. It seems to be the first Japanese to win."

The standard record for women's javelin throws at the World Championships next month is 64 meters, and Kitaguchi has not reached this record this season, but is ranked 12th in the world rankings as of 14th of this month.
