The Syrian basketball opens the door to the return of the foreign professional to the football stadiums

The Syrian Football Association announced the return of professional players to participate in the league and cup championships, starting from the 2022-2023 season, based on the second chapter of the players’ status list.

This came in a statement by the Syrian Football Association, which was published on the official page of the Federation on the social networking site “Facebook”, stipulating that each club contract with two players (Arab or foreign) in all positions except for goalkeepers, within the terms and conditions stipulated by the laws Relevant and relevant in Syria, and the regulations issued by the Asian and International Football Associations.

The decision of the Syrian Football Association to return the professional player to the league and cup competitions, after the success of the experiment presented by the Basketball Association in Syria, to allow the four clubs (Ahli Aleppo-Al-Karama-Al-Jalaa-Al-Wahda) last May, which qualified for the semi-final series “Final Four” to bring in Arab and foreign players to strengthen its ranks, in a fruitful experience, witnessing a strong match and a remarkable public presence in the Syrian basketball halls, before moving the team (Ahly Aleppo and Al Karama) to the final series, through which “Ahly Aleppo” was known, supported by the Algerian international Muhammad Al Harath and the American Anthony Scott and behind them the coach The Lebanese expert, Fouad Abu Chakra, won the league title for the 20th time in history and the first for the ancient Aleppo club since 2006.

The professional player returns to the Syrian Football League for the first time since 2011, when competitions in Syria were suspended due to the events that struck the country.

It is noteworthy that the Competitions Committee of the Football Association has set the first of next August as the date for the start of the new season, by completing the quarter-final matches of the Cup competition, and that the league will officially start for the 2022-2023 season on the third of next September.
