Former world No.1 Naomi Osaka announced on Twitter on Saturday that she will not play the Wimbledon grass tournament, which begins on June 27, due to a persistent Achilles heel injury.

“My Achilles heel is still not healed, so we will see you next time,” the American player wrote on her official account, three weeks after hinting that she would not play it for lack of points distributed by the WTA due to the exclusion of Russian and Belarusian players from the London Grand Slam tournament.
