For the third time, the prestigious competition series Global Champions Tour and the team tour Global Champions League will come to Stockholm's stadium.

The starting field is crowded with world stars, including the Swedish gold trio from Tokyo;

Henrik von Eckermann, Peder Fredricson and Malin Baryard Johnsson.

- It is always fun to come home, we Swedish riders love to come home because we have a fantastic audience that is well known around the world.

There is always an incredible atmosphere and extra tagging, says Henrik von Eckermann.

Competing with King Edward

The Swedish world runner-up brings King Edward, the 12-year-old gelding who during the Olympics became historic as the third horse ever to go flawlessly through the Olympics.

This summer, the welded duo, who after the Olympics took several meritorious victories, are aiming for the World Cup in Herning, Denmark in August.

- The last two competitions there have been some problems on the road but I see it positively.

It might have happened during the World Cup instead and now I have changed a few small things and think it can get better.

One detail that von Eckermann has changed is the stirrup, which he changed to a slightly wider variant after losing it in competition recently.

- I believe that there is a lot left to give and I believe in a good future, says von Eckermann about the development potential with King Edward.

"Swings very fast in our sport"

Von Eckermann is Sweden's highest ranked rider right now with a second place in the world rankings and has been in the top three since November last year.

- I do not think so much about it but think that I am happy that I have a couple of nice horses now.

Of course King Edward who is in a great shape, a great horse!

At the same time, I know how fast this can change, it fluctuates very fast in our sport, so I try to enjoy a little of what we have, but work to stay there and work on new goals.

SVT broadcasts live from the GCT competitions at Stockholm Stadium from Friday.
