Godolphin star Hurricane Lane appears at Royal Ascot finale

Godolphin star Hurriken Lane will start his new year in the world of racing, by challenging the "Hardwick Stakes" race dedicated to purebred horses "Group 2" for a distance of 2,400 metres, which will be held tomorrow, Saturday, as part of the final day's races at the prestigious British Royal Ascot Festival, which will be held on Saturday. Last Tuesday, it kicked off its 311th edition, considered the epitome of grass track racing on the international stage.

Hurriken Lane had a distinguished season at the age of three years under the supervision of coach Charlie Appleby, and last year achieved three impressive victories in Group 1 races in Ireland, France and the United Kingdom, after he snatched the Irish Derby in June 2021, He followed it up in July with a stormy victory in the French "Grand Prix de Paris", before winning again in the "Saint Leger" race that took place last September at the British "Doncaster" track.

Godolphin coach Charlie Appleby commented on Hurriken Lane's readiness, saying in a press statement: "I am very pleased with the maturity that (Hriken Lane) has gained in his fourth year, and this race at (Royal Ascot) has been our goal for a long time, and it will be his main goal For the French (Arc) racing season."

He added, "He did a good workout around the British (Newmarket) track, and since that exercise has shown a development in his physical and mental level, and we are happy with his condition at the moment."

He concluded: "We know that he prefers a little softness on the floor, but the ground was also fast when he won the (Irish Derby), and he is now more prepared than last year, and the team is very excited to see him make his first appearance this year."
