The Saudi-sponsored competitions Aramco Team Series, which is part of the European Tour, is in its second sub-competition at Centurion Club outside London - the course also hosted the premiere competition of the new Saudi tour on the men's side called LIV Golf.

The Aramco competitions are decided at both individual and team level, where the former are decided over three days with only professionals and the latter over two days where amateurs also participate.

When the first day's game begins to come to an end, at the time of writing, the Swede Sofie Bringner tops the competition in seven strokes under par after an eventful first round, to say the least.

The 24-year-old was noted for three eagles, three bogeys and four birdies.

Bringner, who has a professional win on the account (SM Match 2021), is one stroke ahead of home player Georgia Hall and two ahead of compatriot Bronte Law.

Isabella Deilert and Johanna Gustavsson have also made strong starts and are split four on four strokes under par.

Gustavsson also has a number of holes left to play.

Fresh Scandinavian Mixed champion Linn Grant has started stably and is in a shared 18th place, one stroke below par, together with, among others, six-time European tour winner Caroline Hedwall who is still out on the track.
