The Girondins de Bordeaux have been administratively demoted to National 1, the 3rd French division, by the National Management Control Department (DNCG).

The football club, six times champion of France, could not present accounts in good standing.

A disaster for the supporters, already disappointed that their club was relegated to Ligue 2.

The double sentence for Bordeaux.

After six titles of champion of France, four Coupes de France in its history, the Girondins, having not been able to present accounts in good standing, are now administratively downgraded to National 1, the equivalent of the 3rd French division, by the Management National Management Control Authority (DNCG).

If they can appeal the decision, it's a downfall for Gérard Lopez's football club, which was already relegated to Ligue 2 after a disastrous season, and a disappointment for the supporters.

A descent into hell

The legendary club sees its future darken even more.

"We are all sad, we all want to see our club again, to live peacefully, it's hard for everyone, but we'll have to look into the future so that the Girondins de Bordeaux do not disappear from French football", confides a supporter .

Since the sale of the Girondins, it's been a descent into hell.

After an American investment fund, the former president of Lille, Gérard Lopez, with controversial methods, arrived at the controls, but with limited means.

The plan put in place in recent weeks, a contribution of ten million euros and sale of players, did not convince the financial policeman.

"There was a whole organization of destruction of this club, it's impressive. We wonder how the club can get out of this situation", launches Alain Giresse, former emblematic player of the club.

It is therefore the epilogue to the fall of this monument of French football sportingly relegated to Ligue 2 last May.

"We feel a lot of anger, hatred at times, frustration. For me, it's inconceivable to imagine Girondins in National 1 and as a supporter, we place our trust in Gérard Lopez", explains a supporter.

"What we expect is that he takes his responsibilities, that he decides to finance the club, which has not been done since the start of the season."

"It's terrible to see the club in the slums"

"I think we have to rebuild everything, we tinker, stay in Ligue 2 to do what? If it's to play on a soft stomach and stay there for ten years ... Is that really what What Bordeaux want? I don't think so. It would be terrible to see the club in the bottom of the rankings. Isn't that a blessing in disguise? I'm asking myself the question." asks this other supporter.

Bordeaux expressed their dismay in a statement and called the decision "brutal".

The club announces that it is appealing this sanction.
