On Saturday, the World Swimming Championships in Budapest, Hungary, will start, but Sarah Sjöström will not enter the championship until Tuesday, when the trials in the 100-meter freestyle will be on the program.

- I come to Budapest on Sunday so I have two full days in place before it's time to compete.

I will only compete for four days and it will probably be good, says Sarah Sjöström to SVT Sport.

Fewer branches

In addition to 100 meters freestyle, she will also compete in 50 meters freestyle and 50 meters butterfly.

She says that she is often asked if she "only" stands in three branches.

- Everyone says "just?"

and I can not understand why.

There are still more branches than most, laughs Sjöström.

How do you look at the number of branches?

- I still think I run quite a few branches.

I do not think you can find so many swimmers running more than three disciplines at the World Cup still.

It makes me laugh every time.

- But it is only if you compare with what I have done before.

I have been on 4-5 individual branches at each championship.

I have told myself for many years that I should start to reduce the number of branches because it becomes too much for me physically and mentally.

My body breaks down if I have to do it for a long time.

"Good chance on everything I swim"

Just like the recent championships, Sjöström has opted out of the 100 meter butterfly parade.

In addition, Sweden will skip the women's team race in the 4x100 meters freestyle.

How do you view your medal chances in the World Cup?

- I probably have a pretty good chance of everything I swim.

Everyone who swims in a championship has a chance to do something good.

It is important to take the chance once you are there.

I hope I will be the best when it comes to the World Cup.
