After the United States introduced equal agreements between men and women in May, Spain has now followed suit.

Spain does not pay its players, but the agreement includes as large bonuses and image rights as the male national team.

The same sporting conditions as travel, food and hotels are also included.

The Spanish Football Association writes on its website that it has signed an agreement that extends over five years.

"From now on, the conditions are the same.

All players will also receive a share of the sponsorship income, there can be no better agreement ", says chairman Luis Rubiales in a press release.

The Spanish national team captains Alexia Putellas, Patricia Guijarro, Irene Paredes and the international players' union Fifpro's chairman Amanda Gutiérrez were present and signed the agreement.

"Today is a historic day.

We want to show everyone that the interest in women's football is starting to grow ", says Gutiérrez.
