Newcomer Ryan Gravenberch has already planned his future at Bayern Munich.

When asked what headline the 20-year-old midfield jewel would like to see in a year's time, Gravenberch replied without hesitation: "That we won the Champions League."

The youngster speaks openly about his ambitious goals.

“I came here to win a lot of titles.” After the sobering previous season, these ambitions should sound like music to the ears of the Munich team.

The "midfield engine", as Bayern announced their new signing from Ajax Amsterdam, is said to have enormous potential.

According to Ajax, Gravenberch cost the German record champions a fixed transfer fee of 18.5 million euros plus other bonus payments.

"He's one of the greatest talents in Europe, has excellent technique, always finds solutions in the smallest of spaces, is very dynamic and a goal threat," enthused sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.

And the native of Amsterdam also knows his strengths.

“I'm a great player, but I'm also technically skilled.

I like dribbling, but I also like hard shots.

That makes me a special player," said Gravenberch.

His contract runs until mid-2027.

Gravenberch came to the Ajax youth academy in 2010, went through all the teams and made it into the national team.

Three championships with Ajax, two cup wins and the U-17 European Championship title in 2018 could just be the beginning.

In Munich, the Dutchman is to be formed into a world star.

Gravenberch could become a serious competitor

Even before the official announcement of the transfer, a curiosity had occurred.

Gravenberch's father had taken to Instagram and posted pictures of the contract signing.

The son could also be seen there in an FCB jersey.

“It was also a great feeling for my parents and my brother.

I wouldn't be here now without my family," said family man Gravenberch.

Even if the youth hope is bursting with self-confidence, it will first have to line up behind Joshua Kimmich and the injury-prone Leon Goretzka.

However, Gravenberch could mature into a serious competitor in defensive midfield.

"He chose FC Bayern because he can develop here at the highest level," said CEO Oliver Kahn.

Gravenberch has about seven weeks left until the start of the season.

The "Servus" is already in place, as he proudly demonstrated in his introductory video.

Liverpool's super striker Sadio Mané will probably also be there.

Even if the Reds are said to have rejected the first million offers from Bayern, nothing should stand in the way of a change of Mané, who was willing to emigrate, at the latest since Liverpool signed center forward Darwin Nunez this Monday.

Gravenberch's signing is Ajax Amsterdam's second acquisition.

Before that came right-back Noussair Mazraoui.

The 24-year-old Moroccan international has signed a contract at Säbener Straße until the summer of 2026.

It is unclear how Gravenberch will influence the future of Marc Roca, who is also planned for defensive midfield.

The Spaniard is keen for more playing time, is considered a transfer candidate and has most recently been linked with Leeds United.
