It is already clear that Sarah Sjöström will opt out of the 100-meter butterfly parade at the World Long Distance Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

In addition to the team caps, the 28-year-old instead puts all the gunpowder on 50 meters of butterfly, as well as 50 and 100 meters free.

- I have told myself for very many years that I will start to reduce the number of branches, because it will be too much for me physically and mentally.

My body breaks down if I have to do it for such a long time, says Sjöström to SVT Sport.

Another way to spare the body is the "new" start.

During the short track world championships in December, Sjöström tested a delayed starting movement, a detail she brings with her to Hungary.

- It's a bit about that I have had a little pain in my back when I stand forward bent in the starting position for too long.

There were a lot of starts during the autumn, I think I am up to 100 starts during the International Swimming League, WC and EC.

Then you got the chance to play a little closer with the starts.

At the World Cup, I dared to drive on it all the time and it felt good.

The World Swimming Championships will be broadcast on SVT, starting on Saturday 18 June.
