Surprise .. The Egyptian Federation denies the dismissal of coach Ihab Galal

The president of the Egyptian Football Association, Gamal Allam, hinted at the imminent dismissal of the new coach of Egypt's national team, Ihab Galal, then quickly denied it, while local media speculation remains that a separation between the two parties will occur next Thursday.

Allam first said in televised statements last Thursday, "Next Thursday, we will announce. I am assigned (the Egyptian Federation board of directors), Hazem Emam and Captain Mohamed Barakat to study the biography of foreign coaches."

The media considered Allam's statement an indirect announcement of the dismissal of Jalal, who led the national team in only two matches.

But a few hours later, Allam denied, in a statement to the Football Association, the dismissal of Jalal.

Allam said in the statement, "I did not declare the dismissal of Ihab Jalal, and my statement was clear that we are studying all alternatives until the final decision is made. He explained:" Hazem Emam and Muhammad Barakat have assigned us to study the resumes of foreign coaches in anticipation of any circumstances that may arise in the coming days.

Allam's comment comes after the Egyptian Federation said earlier yesterday that it would take "important and decisive decisions" on Thursday, and after facing South Korea in a friendly match on Tuesday.

Jalal and his squad have already headed to South Korea, so Allam's statements fueled public anger at the way the coach was dealt with.

The Egyptian Federation wrote on Facebook that it held a meeting to discuss "the circumstances and events of the Egypt-Ethiopia match and the repercussions of the defeat."

The federation added that it had settled on waiting for the match against Korea on Tuesday, after which "it will be expected to take many important and decisive decisions in the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Football Association next Thursday."

Egypt appeared very modestly during the 2-0 loss against Ethiopia in the second round of the African Nations Cup qualifiers last Thursday, and was lucky not to receive more goals, while a few days before it narrowly won 1-0 against its guest Guinea in the opening round.

Jalal, the former coach of Pyramids, Ismaili, and Egypt for Clearing, took over the training of Egypt, succeeding the Portuguese Carlos Queiroz, and played the previous two matches this month.

Jalal was subjected to sharp criticism from the local media and fans on social media, before losing to Ethiopia and even when he was appointed for not achieving great titles or achievements in his career.

There are many calls for the departure of the board of directors of the Egyptian Federation, but it seems that the Federation will try to relieve pressure on it by dismissing Jalal.
