French radio: Zidane coach of Paris Saint-Germain
French radio Europe 1 said today that Zinedine Zidane will coach Paris Saint-Germain, the French Ligue 1 champion, to replace current Argentine coach Mauricio Pochettino, starting next season.
Saint-Germain could not immediately be reached for comment.
Pochettino had coached Saint-Germain 18 months ago, but he failed to lead the team towards winning the Champions League for the first time.
And the Parisian team was bid farewell to the first European club championship from the round of 16 after its defeat against Real Madrid, the Spanish champion and the former Zidane team, which later won the title.
Saint-Germain secured victory in the French League title early in April, the only title they won in the last season.
Zidane, 49, has not been linked to any team since he left Real Madrid at the end of the 2020-2021 season.
