In his speech, he revealed that he graduated from Guangzhou Sports Academy and is now a teacher of the school's football academy. He is honored to return to his alma mater in this capacity and communicate with teachers and students.
Zheng Zhi shared his three points of experience in the process of growing up, and encouraged the graduates that walking out of the campus does not mean the end of their studies. Everyone should persevere in their studies and always run on the road of surpassing themselves.
In the teacher speech section of the graduation ceremony, Zheng Zhi was the first to take the stage. The Guangzhou Sports Institute introduced him as: Asian Footballer, the former captain of the national men's football team, and a football academy teacher.
Zheng Zhi has been teaching at the Football Academy of Guangzhou Institute of Physical Education since May.
When he took the stage, there were bursts of cheers from the teachers and students present.
"I am Zheng Zhi, a teacher from the Football Academy. I am honored to return to my alma mater as a teacher and communicate with my classmates. Today is the 2022 Graduation Ceremony of Guangzhou Institute of Physical Education. For the students, this is the most ceremonial sense of school life. The full stop, for me, is the most ceremonial colon in campus life, marking the beginning of a new identity." Zheng Zhi said.
Zheng Zhi mentioned that he graduated from Guangzhou Institute of Physical Education, so his classmates are also his junior brothers and junior sisters.
Taking the opportunity of the graduation ceremony, he shared three experiences of his growth with everyone.
"The first point is to love the motherland and know how to be grateful. In my decades of sports career, if there is a spiritual force that will always support me to overcome obstacles and cross borders to pursue football dreams, it must be patriotism. It can be said that , long before I loved football, I loved my motherland deeply, and it is precisely because of my deep love that I have always insisted on playing football and dreamed of winning." Zheng Zhi said that now he chooses to return to campus, hoping to use a new way To serve the motherland, he is grateful to the school for his training.
He hopes that after graduation, no matter where they are, the students should always have a patriotic heart and devote themselves to the national sports cause.
The second point of Zheng Zhi's experience is that persistence and never give up.
"Persistence is the trait that can best be reflected in sports people, and it is also the trait that can achieve us the most. The most important thing for me to reach today is persistence. Since I chose football, I have always believed that I can play well. The ball has become a belief." Zheng Zhi recalled that after being selected for the Olympic team that year, he suddenly did not play the ball, and this situation lasted for two years.
This was the most depressing day in his life. Even so, he never gave up his football dream, which is also a belief that has supported him until now.
"So, classmates, no matter how much difficulties and resistance you encounter, you must keep the spirit of our sports people, always persevere, and never give up."
When talking about the third point of experience, Zheng Zhi said: "Looking back on my career, I did achieve some achievements, but what makes me more unforgettable is the regrets left on the field. Many times, I am thinking, When I was young, I should work harder to carve out my skills and abilities so that I can improve my level. Therefore, I especially want to say that leaving school does not mean the end of learning, and everyone should always run on the road of surpassing themselves.” In the end, Zheng Zhi sent a message to the classmates, the times handed over the baton to them, and everyone shouldered the mission to carry forward the characteristics of sports people and participate in the construction of a sports power with youth and sweat.
He wished the graduates to ride the wind and waves and return with honor.
