Michel Platini and Sepp Blatter are in the dock this Wednesday at the Bellinzona court in Switzerland.

The two former football bosses must answer for "disloyal management", "breach of trust" and "false titles" for an allegedly unfair payment of two million Swiss francs in 2011.

It's an old story that resurfaces this Wednesday, between two old friends who have become enemies.

Michel Platini and Sepp Blatter are in the dock at the Bellinzona court in Switzerland.

The two former football bosses must answer for "unfair management", "breach of trust" and "false titles" for an alleged unfair payment of two million Swiss francs in 2011. The two men arrived confident on Wednesday, but separately.

However, the two men are housed in the same hotel, a 5 star with a view of Lake Maggiore located not far from the court.

Blatter's "Clear Conscience"

Before his speech in court, Sepp Blatter was rather optimistic about the outcome of this trial.

"If I wasn't confident on the first day, it would be bad," he said.

"I'm very confident. Now I have to relax, but I will, because I have a clear conscience."

If he does not speak this Wednesday, Michel Platini is present to attend the debate in German.

A translation has been requested for its understanding.

The language barrier did not prevent the defense from agreeing on one point.

She requested in the preamble the suspension of the procedure.

It is the presence of Fifa which bothers Dominic Nellen, lawyer for Michel Platini in particular: "She should not appear as a plaintiff against two of its former leaders."

Thursday is Platini's turn

However, the world football body feels in its place and above all aggrieved in this affair.

"The contract was never discussed within the association. It never granted the payment. These two men decided it alone", explains his lawyer.

A position that brings together Michel Platini and Sepp Blatter, yet rivals, and who have not spoken to each other for years.

Earlier in the day, smiling, the two men discussed a little time together during a short break.

The day's session ends in the early afternoon, because the 86-year-old Swiss is too tired to hold out any longer.

The trial resumes Thursday, it will be the Frenchman's turn to speak.
