On Tuesday 7 June, it is time for the Swedish national football team's national team captain Peter Gerhardsson to take out the squad that will represent Sweden in the European Championships in England this summer.

Some players have an obvious place, but picking out the players who are right on the threshold into the squad is all the more difficult.

- When you have to take out a squad, it is the valuation of those last players that is most difficult.

That is what me and Magnus (Wikman, assistant national team captain) discuss the longest, says national team captain Peter Gerhardsson to SVT Sport.

- It is important to be able to enter this type of championship and perform at this level regardless of which club team you play in. We will meet teams that are highly ranked and 13 of these 16 teams can win the European Championships.

We will need all the features.

The selection for this EC squad is the most difficult so far for the management staff according to Gerhardsson.

- Since Magnus and I took over in 2017, it has never been this tough in all positions and then we talk not only the starting eleven but also the squad selection.

That's good, it's good for Swedish football.

It will be tough for some girls who do not come.

The competition is fierce.

The squad selection will be broadcast on SVT2 and SVT Play on 7 June at 6.30 pm.
