22 May 2021 is probably a day that Häcken's attacking star Pauline Hammarlund will soon forget.

She dropped out of the match due to what later turned out to be a cruciate ligament injury.

At the end of April this year, she made a comeback.

Behind her was an 11-month period of rehabilitation and the struggle to get back in shape.

And in Sunday's damallsvenska victory match against Brommapojkarna came the long-awaited first goal after the comeback.

- It's a bit my job as a striker to put them there when the situation comes.

It is important to get started with the goal scorer.

It was a year ago last.

Very nice, especially to do it in the first start after the injury, says the 28-year-old to SVT Sport.

But the road here has not been easy.

Hammarlund certainly made a comeback at the end of April but suffered a setback.

The injury bothered once again and she says that she did not really get more than 2-3 weeks of training.

- I'm not in real match form yet but it will come.

My body feels good but I need several minutes to be in my best shape.

"Tight table"

The striker is aware of how even it is at the top and what is required going forward.

- It is a tight table where we lost in our last matches before the victory against BP.

Which we should have won.

Now it's about focusing and taking a full pot before the European Championship break, she says firmly.

And the focus right now is the club team.

Peter Gerhardsson will present his European Championship squad on Tuesday and the former national team striker is aware that it will be difficult to join the national team for the time being.

"Best when it comes to"

- It has been a while since I came to that realization.

The focus has been on getting back in the squad.

But in the long run, it would have been fun to be back in the national team.

But she points out what is most important right now.

- I'm just so happy to be back on the pitch, she says and continues:

- Sweden has good chances.

Performs best when it comes to the most.

No talk that the goal should be to fight for the teammates.
