Tonight, the golf major US Open will be decided.

22-year-old Swede Ingrid Lindblad is split four before the last lap.

The effort is historically good, as Lindblad still goes to college and thus counts as an amateur.

No amateur has ever played better in the history of the major competition.

One of many who are impressed by Lindblad is the Swedish golf icon Annika Sörenstam.

- She hits the ball far, high and has a good feeling on the green and puts very strongly, says the 51-year-old.

"Really enjoyed"

Sörenstam played himself in this week's competition and joined Lindblad during the first two laps.

- I really enjoyed playing with her.

She is fun and very positive.

I think she will make a good finish, says Sörenstam who himself missed the qualifying limit in the competition.
