Elite Vetlanda has dominated large parts of the 2000s in Swedish speedway with its six Swedish Championship golds, most recently in 2015.

But two months ago, it became clear that the long-established club lived high above its assets and a bankruptcy application was filed while withdrawing from the top league.

Since then, the new board of Vetlanda Motorsällskap has worked for the association to be able to buy back Vetlanda Motorstadion from the bankruptcy estate and now it is clear that this will be the case.

- The association has lived on, what has happened now is that we placed a bid for the bankruptcy estate for the limited company which includes the arena, machines, vehicles and equipment and we won the bidding, says Mia Kristoffersson.

But it is not about an elite investment.

- In the long run, it will be an elite activity, but it will take a few years to recover from this financial blow, because it has affected the association as well, very hard, says Kristoffersson.

Now the focus is on youth activities, but the hope is that they will have the chance to arrange some Allsvenskan matches already this season.

- We see it as a chance to start building from scratch with the children and youth activities.

We already have a team in Division 1, what we hope is that we will be able to host some Allsvenskan clubs with the help of other clubs' good will.

We want to offer the home crowd a little good speedway already this year, says Kristoffersson.
