The General Sports Authority organizes the "Sports Day for People with Down Syndrome" initiative

The General Sports Authority organized the "Sports Day for People with Down Syndrome" initiative at Al Nasr Sports and Cultural Club in cooperation with the Emirates Down Syndrome Association and Al Nasr Sports Club.


The authority said in a statement today, Friday, that the initiative aims to empower and integrate people of determination within the initiatives of the Sports Authority within the framework of achieving the strategic goal of promoting community sports culture as part of the goals and objectives of the General Sports Authority.


During the Sports Day, Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum, Executive Director of the Sports Development Sector at the General Sports Authority, honored a group of partners for their role in community service.


Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum handed Dr. Mohammed Al-Nahhas, Chairman and CEO of Mena Labs Laboratories in Dubai, a certificate of appreciation from the General Sports Authority in appreciation of the laboratories’ role in caring and supporting people of determination, and their interest in supporting recreational and sports activities for people with Down syndrome in the country.


For his part, Dr. Muhammad Al-Nahhas affirmed the keenness of MENA Labs to support people of determination and people with Down syndrome, and sponsor sports and entertainment events for them, based on its societal role, and to enhance its efforts to serve the country, pointing out the importance of people with Down syndrome an important part in the fabric of society and to be Active and productive people in society.


 The sports day included organizing competitions between children and youth participating in football, basketball and table tennis, and training them on team and individual sports to develop their skills.
