Pitso Mosimane, coach of Al-Ahly of Egypt and runners-up in the African Champions League, said that he will not cry over any lost titles from the team, because he managed to win more of them, stressing that there is no success without failure.

Al-Ahly lost 2-0 to Wydad Casablanca, thanks to the double of Zuhair Al-Matraji, to win Wydad its third title in the continental championship, while Al-Ahly lost the opportunity to win the title for the third time in a row, which would have been an unprecedented achievement.

Al-Ahly won the Champions League 10 times over the course of his career.

Mosimane said - in an interview with the "Metro FM" radio station in South Africa - "I will not cry over the 4 or 5 titles I lost, because - in return - I can focus on the many titles I won. There is no success without failure. I get angry a lot when I lose, because I put in a lot of effort and work to win every game I play. But I repeat that there is no success without setbacks."

The South African coach added, "I wanted to win the Champions League for the third time in a row, and I was working for it. I gave the medal (silver after the final) to the ball bearer, because I play for gold."

Musimani referred to the criticism of him in Egypt, saying that he was "sacked every week during his time with Al-Ahly."

"Sometimes people say that Pizzo doesn't play in an attractive way, but I say you can't always play in an aesthetic way, because you will lose. I'd rather win than play beautiful football. I believe in the quality of our performance. And to be honest, this is the way I used to play it at Super Sport and Sundowns."

"I tested this method in South Africa, and I was able to win the bronze in the Club World Cup twice. With Al-Ahly I won two bronze in the Club World Cup, but certainly there is always room for improvement and development."

"I don't have (Lionel) Messi, Xabi (Alonso) or (Andres) Iniesta, so I have to play the way I know, not Barcelona's. I play the way I think football should be played."
