Protester tying herself in the net and stopping the French Open semi-final match

A protester halted Friday's French Open semi-final match between Croatian Marin Cilic and Norway's Casper Ruud for 15 minutes after storming Philippe Chatrier and tying herself in the net.

The woman, who was wearing a T-shirt that read "We have 1,028 days left," tied herself at the edge of the net with a string around her neck.

It was not clear what the message on both sides of her white shirt meant.

The players were quickly taken off the field and play was halted with Ruud leading 3-6 6-4 4-1 before the protester was led off the field.

Play resumed after 15 minutes.

This is not the first time that play has stopped at the French Open.

During the 2009 men's singles final, a spectator jumped onto the court from the stands and tried to put a hat on Roger Federer's head while in the 2013 final between Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer, a masked protester ran around the field waving fireworks.
